Welcome to Midpen's volunteer programs management site!

Not sure how to get around this site?
We get it - we'd also rather be out in nature than randomly clicking around around online! Let's see if we can help...

Q: What volunteer programs does Midpen offer?
A: There are quite a few, all meaningful and driven by our mission...check out the PROGRAMS section to peruse the various volunteer roles.

Q: I’m interested in the training schedule for one of your longer term programs. How do I submit my interest?
A: Click the green "Become a Fan" button on that particular PROGRAM page.

Q: How often are new volunteer projects posted?
A: Volunteer projects are posted the first Wednesday of every month for the following month.

Q: I just need to register for a single day project in the preserves or an activity associated with my current volunteer/docent role at Midpen. Where do I find those?
A: Head over to the OPPORTUNITIES section to see upcoming projects and everything else posted for both new and ongoing/current volunteers.

Q: How can I provide feedback about my participation in a recent volunteer project?
A: Please complete this quick online volunteer project feedback form.

Q: What about groups? I'm here on behalf of my (school, scout, community) group and we're looking for something we can do together.
A: Most of our programming is geared toward and open to individuals within our local communities. We do have some availability to offer opportunities to organized groups when scheduling considerations and logistics allow. Check out COMMUNITY GROUP STEWARDS to learn more.

Q: Why do I need to register for this site and/or login to sign-up for opportunities or "Become a Fan" of a program?
A: We are fortunate to receive a lot of interest in our programs which can be difficult to track through email correspondence; we rely on electronic records and contact information to help us manage the load.

Q: I'm having trouble with required forms and/or qualifications
A: Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the page to submit your forms after uploading

Q: How are you handling covid-19?
A: Midpen is a special district government agency that follows state and local health guidance. Staff and volunteers are required to cancel any scheduled commitments and stay home if experiencing symptoms of any illness.

Q: I have additional questions. Who should I contact?
A: For anything related to volunteer interpretation and education docent programs, contact staff in the Interpretation & Education Programs. For anything else including trail patrol, episodic and resource management projects, and this site, please reach out to us HEREand your email will be routed to the appropriate person.
