Special Project Volunteer

Who We Are

Special Project Volunteers (SPV) work on unique projects in the field that don't fit neatly into any of our other more defined programs. Opportunities to work in this capacity will be open to existing program volunteers who possess advanced training and knowledge and/or brand new recruits, depending on the nature of the project and needs as determined by the staff person overseeing the project.

What We Do

Volunteers sign-up to assist with unique or one-off projects in the preserves. The majority of the associated projects will be coordinated and managed by Midpen staff from departments outside of the volunteer program with our program staff overseeing the initial recruitment and onboarding based on project requirements and any qualifications needed.

Opportunities associated with this program may be open to current, long-term Midpen volunteers only or new recruits, depending on the project details. Examples of past projects include trail surveys, wildlife monitoring, and field equipment maintenance. Assignments may be short-term or ongoing, depending on the nature of the project.

Training

Training, experience, and commitment levels will be project-specific.
